Certificate of origin

A document certifying the country in which goods were produced, used to claim preferential tariffs or meet trade requirements.

A certificate of origin is issued by an authorized body (often a chamber of commerce) and states where goods were produced, letting importers claim reduced or zero duty under a preferential trade regime. Within the CIS and EAEU the Form CT-1 (СТ-1) certifies goods of member-state origin for duty-free treatment, while a general (non-preferential) certificate is used elsewhere.
